What have we been up to?

Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Valentine’s Day, and a happy early St. Patrick’s Day! Wow, we’ve been away from the blog for a long time, and we’ve missed you!

Where have we been, you might ask? While we’re extra busy on the sales floor during November and December, our bridal season kicks into high gear right after New Year’s (it makes sense with couples getting engaged over the holidays and even more ordering for their June and July weddings).

Not only are we busy, busy, busy meeting with couples in the shop, but we’re out and about at bridal shows taking place across Columbus. Maybe we saw you at the Franklin Park Conservatory Bridal Show, or the Columbus Weddings Show at the Columbus Convention Center, or the Scioto Reserve Country Club’s open house. Just last week we were one of three local vendors invited to participate in BHLDN’s trunk show at the Easton Town Center Anthropologie store. (Rose Bredl and Piece of Cake also did Columbus proud.)

Bright lights and fashion forward, the Columbus Weddings Show is all about the drama.

Exhibiting at Franklin Park Conservatory's Bridal Showcase is pretty magical.

Fran, calligrapher to the stars, came along to the BHLDN trunk show and calligraphed couples' names and wedding date on shimmering blush bookmarks.

While quite a bit of work goes into preparing for these shows, we love meeting prospective clients and discussing their dream invitations. We don’t mind sampling the complimentary Bellinis and Hors d’oeuvres either! We heard from a number of you that pale blush continues to be the reigning accent color, but plum and navy are having their day. In just the last month we’ve designed two invitations for couples wanting a flood of dark blue for the background and bright white digital ink for their text. We love a statement invitation! Lace as a popular texture and theme is joined, not surprisingly for the navy crowd, by nautical. Even here in Midwestern Ohio, people are embracing lakes and boating culture for a fun and festive theme. Anchors away!

We can't show off this navy and nautical invitation in its entirety quite yet: the wedding is in May.

We’ve also noticed more and more of you are opting for September and October weddings. What’s not to love about a slightly cooler event, a palette inspired by fall foliage, and getting your perfect venue without a year-long waiting list? Autumn brides and grooms: now is the perfect time to come in and fall in love with your invitations. E-mail or call: 614-424-6617. We can’t wait to meet you!
