It's a beautiful sunny fall Saturday and I'm off for the first time since maybe taking over this business in January. It's kind of hard to stay away from the shop but I have my ace sales women on the job so I'm doing the next best thing. I started adding some holiday merch to our website and found myself deep in our blog pages. There are more than 80 of them dating back to 2009 when Joan started them. It's a tragedy for some of these to be buried deep in cyberspace. It's like going through your grandmother's hope chest (this is not to say Joan is like a grandmother, not at all). Did you get how everything in our spring collection has Mom or the garden in mind? These little novelties are not only adorable but totally functional and earth friendly. Ceramic and concrete plant holders (hint, add a gorgeous pen to the mix), seed storage bags, vintage brass watering cans. We can hardly handle it. Thanks for spending your Saturday night with us. We sound like a broken record, we know it, but we can't wait to see you back in our shop. Stay safe and take care, friends.
Soooo, about these flower vases. They're inspired by iconic Mediterranean ceramics but handcrafted out of special waterproof PAPER! They're perforated with hundreds of small die-cut shapes and curves and sewn by hand with gold stamping. It's hard to put flowers to shame but these vases might. Can you picture a few on your dining room table or Mom's desk? We can. See you at 7 for the next addition of Live from VGH.
Cheers! It's 5 o'clock, it's Saturday, it's 75 degrees and sunny! You probably don't have to work tomorrow. There are some things to be happy about. Feast your eyes on these nourishing beauty treatments filled with botanic plant infusions like carrot oil and beet root extract (yes, it’s a thing and it’s great for the skin!) We have carrot & neroli, cucumber & honey and sugar beet & blossom french handcreme, salt scrub and soap. Guys, these are made with fresh, wholesome 98% natural ingredients. It's really a shame you can't eat them...actually, you probably can but they won't taste very good. Go on and indulge yourself! Come back at 6 to see our bright handcrafted vases, made out what?...
Welcome back! We hope you’re enjoying VGH. Leave us some feedback on FB or Insta. Two things we strive for related to our cards. 1) The insides are blank so that your handwritten note takes center stage. 2) They’re designed and printed by small, often indie artists. Mama’s Day is May 10th and you’ve seen the posts that your kids will not be bringing home DIY crafty treasures from school so we’ve got you covered. We’re featuring a great assortment of letterpress beauties made in Seattle, WA by Ilee Papergoods; wildflower seed paper which Mom can plant in her garden by Seedlings in Clinton, MA and letterpress veggie cards handmade by Alice-Louse Press in Perrysburg, OH. We are basically an...
