Every year vendors from fledgling stationery studios to major invitation printers and retailers (that’s us) converge in New York for the National Stationery Show. We go to find fresh and compelling trends in cards, stationery, and writing accessories. Wonder what we found? Well hang on to your ballpoints, here’s a preview of what we’re so excited to be bringing to the shop. The National Stationery Show--the place to see and be seen. Thanks to the NSS for this snap. While handwritten and calligraphic designs are still popular and were well-represented at the NSS, we were happy to come across the irreverent palette of Kinaloon whose hand-printed silk-screened cards pop and can work for an everyday hello or special occasion. ...
Working in a brick-and-mortar shop, our attention is often focused on pushing the envelope—toward the next season, that is. That means at the moment we’re thinking of and merchandising thoughtful gifts to celebrate moms, dads, and grads. Inside On Paper, come see us! In our last post we said these suggestions would be focused on the art of writing. That’s mainly true, but it’s also the perfect time of year to shine a light on our favorite fragrances, some of which are new to the shop and some which have become On Paper classics. Our very best selling perfume is Lollia’s Wish—a fresh, sugared pastille scent. This truly is our go-to. It’s universally wearable and light as can be. If...
Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Valentine’s Day, and a happy early St. Patrick’s Day! Wow, we’ve been away from the blog for a long time, and we’ve missed you! Where have we been, you might ask? While we’re extra busy on the sales floor during November and December, our bridal season kicks into high gear right after New Year’s (it makes sense with couples getting engaged over the holidays and even more ordering for their June and July weddings). Not only are we busy, busy, busy meeting with couples in the shop, but we’re out and about at bridal shows taking place across Columbus. Maybe we saw you at the Franklin Park Conservatory Bridal Show, or the...
Hello, hello! So happy you’ve tuned in for our third and final (for the moment) featured invitation of the season. We hope that you won’t mind if we shine a spotlight on others down the road (after all, it is our favorite subject and there are so many more gorgeous invitations to bask in). This design in an On Paper exclusive, designed in house and one we’re thrilled to say is in currently in production for a very organized bride (summer of 2016)! Pardon our aliases, but we don’t like to spill the beans until the I dos have been done, so we’ll call her Sara and him James, and we’ll call their style rustic elegance. One benefit of being so...
We can’t believe it’s been a month since we last checked in, but were we ever busy preparing for and participating in the Country Living Fair. It was fantastic to see so many sunny, paper loving people braving the heat (and rain). If you haven’t been to the fair, can we suggest you mark it on your calendar for next year? You don’t want to miss a chance to take in the vintage fabric frocks of Brooklyn-based Beebop & Wally, the handsomest leather bags by Fount Leather (our neighbor to the north in Cleveland), and the whimsy and craftsmanship of boots by another Ohio biz, The Velvet Road. But back to the matter at hand (and our favorite subject): fabulous...
